I’m an Asian and a lot of my Asian friends have gotten nose jobs over the years. They all had really subtle changes but I want a much more dramatic change. I want my nose to be completely westernized. Is this possible?
Yes, it is possible to have either a subtle change or a change that is a bit more obvious. During a consultation, your surgeon will determine what changes will best enhance your own natural features while preserving the distinguishing characteristics of your ethnicity. Sometimes, only a subtle change is necessary to achieve balance and obtain the best result. With a more dramatic change, the patient must have realistic expectations. In addition, the surgeon must agree with the desired change. Typically, tip projection and size is initially performed, followed by a dorsal augmentation. An alar base reduction may be performed after. Overall, it is possible to obtain a significant result if it is desired and necessary. Thank you for the question and I hope this helps.
