I’m a 35 year old Chinese woman who had rhinoplasty performed about a week ago. My surgery is characterized by the surgeon taking out excess scar tissue to thin it out and by replacing it with my very own rib cartilage for additional support. He also added cartilage grafts to raise the tip. After the cast was removed I was shocked to see that my nasal tip is a lot larger than it should be. I only wanted small changes and now it’s as if the changes are huge. My smile is also uneven and my tip is numb. Is this normal or not?
Since you just had surgery it is too soon to see the finals results. It may take between a year and a half and two years to see your nose perfectly without any swelling. After about three months seventy percent of the swelling should be gone and you will be able to see your nose better. If you are still really concerned after three months I suggest you schedule a follow up appointment with your doctor. Best of luck to you.
