I’m of Asian ancestry and would like to get rhinoplasty to enhance my features. However, I’m concerned that I won’t look like me anymore. Is this a legitimate concern?
I can definitely understand how you wouldn’t want to not look like yourself after surgery, and normally this isn’t the case. Many of our patients are usually greeted with questions about having lost weight or having changed their hair color. Rarely a patient is asked if she has had a nose job. This is because it is the surgeon’s goal to maintain “you”, just enhancing it a bit. While changes may look extremely significant to you, they are rarely noticed by those around you.
